Diya Shukla, a student of United world college South East Asia, Singapore is the founder of Playmakers Foundation (www.playmakers.in)- an organization she started at the age of 14 yrs. Diya is a national level tennis player and Playmakers Foundation is her endeavor that aims to help promote sports among underprivileged section of the society and empowers needy youth for better livelihood through jobs in the field of sports.
Diya studied in India until Grade-9 and traveled to various places for her tournaments. In the course of her travel, what touched her core was the lack of sports opportunities and facilities for underprivileged children her age. She took it in her stride to not just play the sport herself but also make a difference in the lives of others so they could dream of being a champion. She started to provide resources and right coaching to all sports enthusiasts. This triggered Diya to start a social enterprise “Playmakers“.
Diya finds fulfillment and enjoyment in giving shape to her ideas with the help of the advisory team. She judiciously spends her precious time by allocating time to her studies, tennis practice and planning various activities for the foundation.
She says everyone around me have been a great support in turning my idea into reality. Diya has a dream that one day she will see someone from Playmakers represents India in World Olympics.
